Best option? Sell the truck as is. Hopefully you don’t owe anything on the truck or you are really screwed.
Once you sell it, buy a cheap mode of transportation and keep insurance on it. Not only is it the legal requirement it also protects you from a financial nightmare if you have another accident.

Some of you should take reading comprehension 101. OP stated in the first post that he didn't have insurance at the time of the accident.

    Damn!

    Did the cops ticket her?

The idea that you're going to get a lawyer to reverse the liability for your failure and that lawyer is goign to be more capable than the lawyer of her insurance company is the figurative turn left into oncoming traffic.

You are still at fault. You didn’t yield. Doesn’t matter that people were giving you room. Personally I hate when people do that, it’s just setting you up for disaster. Either wait until traffic clears or find a way to make a right turn.

Those times when a lane or two yield to let somebody through is so dicey. I've done it, but I've also had several people I know at my work get wrecked in that scenario. If I can't get across the moving traffic, I'll take those three rights! People be too crazy for that junk.

He edited it including that info.

the exact same thing happened to me when i was 18. her speed doesn't matter, you're going to be the one at fault and if you haven't been cited yet, you will. i remember getting a ticket in the mail a few weeks later.

Sounds like he still has to go to court for it. He's on his own as far as defense goes unless he gets a lawyer. I'm not saying he should or shouldn't get a lawyer though. I have no idea what the legal implications are here

Take a look at this photo, see the traffic ? Now look at that f150, that's where her car was speeding through and hit me maybe 6 cars ahead.

Seems liek it's the perfect tool to protect against people like the OP. I need to put a dash cam higher on my wish list.
