Here is what the supercharger rotors look at from their intake position, and they are hungry for airflow! The bore out to the throttle body is 70mm.... it can quite easily and cleanly be taken out to match the 76mm bore of the V8 TB.
    IMG_4570.jpg
Looking from the throttle body side, the ID of the groove for the gasket is.... 76mm!! Machining out the inner ring will provide for a perfect transition. The O-ring gasket groove will be filled with an aluminum ring, and a traditional MLS gasket will create the seal. The bolt pattern is different between the two throttle bodies, we can plug and redrill, or manufacture an adapter.

URD already makes the adapter so we’re set there. Next time it’s off I may consider doing this.

It's also easier to do a smooth taper with the urd adaptor to port match to the SC.

I'd rather make an adapter that will keep the full 76mm from the TB on w/o necking down.

So my plan is to plug and redrill the throttle body bolt pattern on the Magnuson intake snout. The stock 67mm x 76mm pattern will become 67mm x 82mm. The O-ring groove will be filled an aluminum ring, and the snout opened up to match the 76mm/V8 throttle body. A similar process was used to adapt an overbored 80mm throttle body to my old TRD/Magnuson Tundra 5.7 Supercharger snout. No bolt pattern change, but the O-ring groove was filled with a ring, the snout then ported, tapered, and honed to match the throttle body outlet.

Here is the Magnuson intake tube next to the 76mm/V8 throttle body, almost a perfect transition. The same process as above is being applied.

Some of you might check out www.maxbore.com

He does legit work. He bores out the throttle body on a lathe, then mills out a new throttle plate from brass.

I used this service on my 96 tacoma. I wasn't really after more performance (already turbo), but I had high idle. The stock throttle butterfly wore into the bore over time. This made a small gap for air to escape around.
This service was $10 more than a used throttle body from a scrap yard. So happy with my purchase. Idle is perfect now.

Anyone who has done this mod on a FI Tacoma, did it make a difference? Did you notice any power gains? Did you run into any problems?

Not yet, I'd like to verify the dang thing will run w/o throwing codes... Better yet, have a flash developed that includes whatever tuning is required to run it. @mZiggy

I will have mine on in about a week. From what little I have found, research wise, most people are not reporting a CEL for none FI applications. Though I have not see any reports from people with FI.

76mm throttle body from a Tundra installed. I ported out the adapter and the supercharger. Pretty easy job though it did take a few hours due to the porting. Drove it about 30 miles on test run. No issues with idle or CEL. The butt dyno didn't really notice much, maybe at highway speeds the acceleration was a little more. My ODBII reader (Torque) indicated the engine power was higher than I had ever seen before, though that is an estimated value and I only use it as a reference. Previously it didn't peak over about 370HP though today I saw it reach 430HP. Please note I am not saying the truck is making 430HP just that the estimate engine power was higher after installing the TB. I have one more mod to make then I will get the truck dyno'ed again. My first dyno run after installing the SC was 291HP@6276RPM at the wheels with the stock Magnuson tune. Since then I have installed 5.29s, 2.5inch Y pipe with secondary CAT delete, Yotawerx Stryker tune and the 76mm TB. I want to put new dump tubes with high flow CATs then I will be "done" and ready to dyno again.

One other thing I want to mention is in the stock intake, including the intake tube provided by Magnison there are only two places where the air is restricted to 70mm. The throttle body and the supercharger. Everything else is 77mm or larger. So I just left in the stock intake, but put in a "high flow" filter from K&N. Overall cost of mod was $200. $130 for TB and $70 for adapter.

The Tundra 5.7 V8 throttle body is 22030-0S010 or 22030-38020. The 0P010 is the 4.0 V6 throttle body.

I done it with this setup, it's pretty quick response on throttle definitely take more gas. I plan to add spacer between adapter and intake, what you guys think?

Check the 2nd gen and 4.0 SC threads for 4.0 t-body info.

Plugged and redrilled/tapped. While not ideal, the plugs are solid. Studs screwed in with thread locker will keep things nice and tight and allow easy future disassembly w/o disturbing the plugs . They also keep the MLS gasket in place for easy assembly.

    Nice and clean.

A bit more work needs to take place in here… but the transition is excellent.
