IMO you didn’t buy a line of BS.
We charge more for a throttle body service but is also includes a induction service.
In 33 years of cars I’ve never seen a throttle body that wasn’t dirty @ 30k...
    Top tier gas or not.

I’m a fan of sticking strictly to the manufacturer’s guide for maintenance. I may be incorrect, but I believe many of the advisors are on commissions as a part of their pay package. The upsell at the dealerships I have been to is a regular occurrence.

Thanks to everyone. I usually do ask to see the problem before it is performed but I like to take walks to keep myself in good shape verses sit in a dealers waiting chair drinking coffee, munching donuts and watching TV getting old and fat. I was a mile away walking when they called. Next time I will have to stick around and check up on the work before it is ok'd.

ditto... they tried to sell you some BS... spray cleaner with a rag, and wipe it out a few times.. maybe pull the intake tube, and the tube from the crankcase vent to the intake, and flush them with brake clean/Tb cleaner... other than that it's a 5 minute job.. takes longer to remove the clamps on the intake tubes than it does to clean the items...
