Throttle keep getting stuck open

I just purchased a new throttle for my 2.7 and it’s starting to get stuck open again, just like the old one. I don’t know what to do it’s brand new it shouldn’t be getting stuck open what do I do

I think you can tell which is new and old lol, all i really needed was a TPMS but it was easier to just buy a whole new throttle, but it acts no more different than the old one, getting stuck open even after I left the battery unplugged over night.

 

Agreed, need some info and context here.
Is it idling high?
Accelerating on it's own?
Setting a code? If so what code number(s)?
Physically sticking open?

 

Being that it's throttle by wire it may actually be the pedal that's messed up.

I would check and clean your pedal connections and measure resistances across the travel with a meter to verify it's within spec.

It's rare for an electric TB to go bad and if a brand new part is having the same problem then I doubt that part is the problem especially when it's being commanded by something else.

Do you have a pedal commander or similar plug in throttle map manipulation device?

 

I have not physically seen it get stuck, but you can for sure feel it.
I put in in neutral and revved it up to 3k, and it stayed for a good second until I put it back in gear which made the rpm’s go down.
Also, it likes to rev and then drop really fast over and over, I wish I had a video to show but it has only happened once before, and happened today once I got into the car.
It threw a code a while back, I don’t remember but it said the throttle was stuck open so I freaked out and ordered a new throttle.

 

It is electronic and yes. But it is not the problem since I have unplugged it, drove it, and then plugged it back in. I could unplug it today and see if that helps but I has been like this wayyyy before I got my pedal commander

 

2022 Tacoma Sr V6 four-wheel drive. After accelerating at a stoplight following another vehicle, I briefly tapped the brakes to allow someone to merge into my lane at that point the engine accelerated, I hit the brakes after about 2 to 3 seconds the engine went back to idle. I drove the car to the stealership, they downloaded telemetrics and sent to headquarters to be analyzed. I'll post whatever they discover if anything....UPDATE... Toyota discovered no problems in the telemetrics, couldn't find anything wrong with the truck..

 

Just for others to reference, I had a bad throttle body on my 2TR a few months back with a high idle and P0505 as the main symptoms. A junk yard replacement took care of it in my case. The original lasted about 315k miles
