    Hi there,
So I have a 2015 taco 6spd manual 4X4. Anyway I was reading up about our lack of throttle response specifically when letting off. That is, how it takes a seemingly unreasonable amount of time for the rooms to drop. This destroys shift time, makes engine braking more than useless and just makes driving much less fun. The whole point in driving manual is to be in control and the computer is always trying to fight me. Also it's flat out dangerous in the winter, if you start to slide generally letting off is a safe bet to gain traction back but this thing just tries to drive you into the ditch when you let off.

Anyway I know this isn't the first post but I haven't been able to find anything more than "get used to it"

What I've found using a scan tool that shows throttle position is that when letting off, the throttle only ever goes down to about %17-20. That is fairly terrible considering cruising highway speed throttle is around %21-24. So why would the engine rpms drop when the throttle is still open for no apparent reason. I also noticed that max throttle is %81.26 no matter what, cold warm, going downhill.

Through my searching I found this product called "pedal commander" that claims to make your throttle more responsive and even go up to %100. Now I find my throttle to be just fine when accelerating and sure an extra %20 up top would be nice. But what I want most is when I let off for the throttle plate to close and slow the damn engine down. Has anyone had any experience with this product or any others that could help this issue?
I also ruled out a slow servo as the culprit. With the engine off but the ignition switch on you can hear the servo change positions and see it on the scan tool. It's instant as far as I can tell

How many miles do you have on the truck. My first tacoma was a 2011 with the 6 speed, and I found that after a while the rpm lag stopped. It acted like a normal throttle by cable as opposed to throttle by wire.

It's got about 50000 km on it. Some days are better than others. I drove around with the scan tool watching and every % makes a difference. One time it want Down to %15 and it really slowed the truck down. I tried disconnecting the battery like some posts said but that made it worse for sure. Only goes down to %20 and literally doesn't slow down at all. Engine breaking doesn't happen. So I guess I could see how it could get better with time.

Mine didnt take that long to change. I bought it new and it stopped doing it within 5-10k miles.
