700 miles so far on URD sleeve kit and Stage 2 clutch. Both are performing nicely, though I can only truthfully talk about clutch performance after 700 miles--sleeve kit will have to wait the 30k mileage test. Stage 2 URD clutches are fantastic, judging from my anecdotal experience. Effort to depress pedal is ever so slightly more than stock clutch--enough to notice some stiffness, assuring you that your purchase secured a quality product and not some mushy stock clutch kit. I treated clutch very nicely for first 500 miles, and did not notice any break-in quirks. I asked the mechanic to seal the disc thoughtfully, which may have made the difference. So far, I am very pleased with Stage 2 clutch--and sleeve kit--from URD. Yall will hear from me if things go south, but I have my fingers crossed.

I have over 40000 miles on the URD sleeve kit no problems.
I had the dealer install it when my pressure plate failed, the dealer replaced the pressure plate under warranty and installed the URD sleeve kit for free.

how much was it and how much time did it take to install?

mine chirps only occasionally, but at 90k, i'm sure it's gonna get worse...

Right here. I suspect that URD is selling the PDM with a markup.

Thinking of adding a second battery...

I don't remember as I got it back in 2010 or so... and had the dealer do the warranty work. While in there, I asked the master tech that was working in my truck if he could install the better option. He did after saying he was not aware of an aftermarket fix and was glad to be the first one at the dealer to see such nicely made item. I still have the trk with about 96k miles and keeping trouble free. Fingers super crossed! Hopefully by now you have gone to those sites provided above. I literally watched the tech take my truck apart and I did not find it that difficult. Just time-consuming.

FAK! I just went to the PDM site after submitting my reply and that sucker has gone up. I think it was around 120 bones when I got it back them. For the current price, it is still a deal compared to the pain in the ass the Toyota fix is as I've learned is not permanent. I could be wrong... Good luck and let us know what you do.

Thought I would share my experience with the Throw Out Bearing squeal on this forum.

    I have a 2007 4.0 6 Speed Tacoma.

I got a shop to replace my OEM clutch with a LUK clutch, after a couple days of driving I noticed a metallic chirp sound any time I engaged or disengaged the clutch. Shortly after I noticed a squealing sound coming from around the bell housing area.

When I went back to the shop who replaced the clutch, they said it could just be a faulty throw out bearing that was put in, so they once again put in a brand new thowout bearing. This only got rid of the noise temporarily, the squeal and chirp came back. I decided to look online and found many threads about this seemingly common issue with these 6 Speed transmissions.

While I spent months reading online, trying to find a solution to this problem, the noise continued to get worse and worse. The options I found to try and solve the issue were either:

    - Clutch Masters Hydraulic Release Bearing
    - URD Throw Out Bearing Sleeve Kit
    - Toyota TSB "Fix"

After reading about people's experiences with the CM Hydraulic Release Bearing (Loss of fluid, inconsistent pedal feel)

I decided against that option because of the mentioned unreliability of the product.

I finally decided to go with a combination of the URD Throw Out Bearing Sleeve Kit and the Toyota TSB.

I had a shop install the URD Kit, while also replacing the original Slave Cylinder and Fork Support that came with my truck with the updated TSB parts.

So far (drive from the shop to my house), there has been no squeal or chirp. I will periodically post updates on whether or not my truck remains squeal and chirp free.
