Toyota wouldn't want their TRD OR's to be known as off road vehicles that you can't really "off road" in.

I've spoken to the guy that owns the dealership I purchased the truck from and he's sending a tech up to pick my truck up and bring it in for service and will return it to me by the end of the day. Awesomeness. He also knows the owner of the dealership that is giving me issues and is making a call on my behalf.

I feel like your just trying to keep the resale value of your truck high by turning people off of the third gen... therefore "un-saturating" the used market 5-10 years from now.

He said he likes his truck and is willing to deal with the issues so I said "Embrace the suck" as in "cool, you be you, bro! roll on"

I bet though that its a little more complicated if you can explain the full situation to corporate. I mean I wouldn't be able to explain that we have a participating dealer in our products and have a decent track record of bad service lately, yet are refusing service without no breach of contract. Could be an anomaly, but you paid for the truck and warranty...doesn't mean the dealer has to comply with you? I would like to think that if the dealer is a "certified dealer" that they have certain criteria they must maintain with customers, especially if they have pre-existing service contracts that need to be fulfilled and the truck hasn't voided that criteria for service.

Under the normal circumstances where business hasn't been awarded and you arnt technically a "customer" to them yet, I could see them throwing you out without much of a fight though.

I'm not really referring to this post specifically, but all the third gen "bashing" you tend to part take in... One would think you would trade in for a 2nd gen or 4R.

I have no other issues. Like I said, these were minor and simple fixes that the dealership couldn't figure out.

Corporate has influence but if you own Coot Motors, and decide to "throw someone out" because you don't want their business for whatever reason... it's your property and you can have law enforcement back you up on that. Let them take it to corporate.

There is the arguement that it is public access, which might necessitate a restraining order. However I'm not a lawyer nor do I play one on TV :D.

I would hold off on bashing them just because their page suddenly being flooded with comments/reviews from non-customers all over the US kind of makes OP's review seem less authentic. Also, they can just go back and delete them. I would post the review wherever you can to maximize the chance of potential customers seeing what they're getting into and I would update it to include how they retaliated by turning you away.

I've had 3 tacomas, a supra, and a sequoia all serviced by this dealer over the past 10 years.

Glad you kept your cool @Trident904 , have you looked to see if there are any reputable non dealer repair shops near you? A lot of our new customers we get, come to us after the dealers try and sell them crap they don't need, didn't approve, won't fix, etc and still continue to use us for all our services. There are good techs at dealers but they seem to be far and few these days, which is why I suggested finding an independent shop, not chain.

wow dude what a bullshit situation. I am in the car business (own my own KBB business and wholesale cars through KBB) and I can tell you, high up management at dealerships are odd people sometimes. I deal with many assholes in this industry. Hopefully you get taken care of soon because no dealership should treat something like this, especially a paying customer.

I guess they could have power, but if you were blacklisted over an "honest" facebook review that has paperwork to back it up, shit that is a firestorm just waiting to get set off. Im sure at some point, corporate would have to provide a credible service spot if it comes to it. My thought though is if I was a "Coots Toyota" where all we do is Toyota, I would be curious to see what corporate has to say as shit you are a dedicated Toyota dealer. I mean these service clients are a good chunk of your business.

Me personally, I would of lost my shit if a dealership refused my service and would of gotten every name who entertained this action on record ASAP which I think the OP has already done.

Our family owned shop opened in 1979 does everything but body work, none of the repairs we do void dealer warranties and all our work is warrantied by us if anyone needs work done in Houston.

I don't go to the dealer enough to have this happen but a local dealer lied to me about issues with my 05 Tundra when I owned it. And they offered to change my 05 Tacoma cabin air filter for only $85.

    Good luck OP.
