Just wanted to share my roof rack install.

I prefer the look of a traditional style roof rack with an Aero bar, but didn’t want to do the clamp on style Thule or Yakima recommends for these trucks. I had an adapter machined so I could use a bolt on FitKit onto the factory holes, and then the only modifications I had to do was to the gutter molding.

    Parts used:
    Thule FIT3114
    Thule 460R podium
    Thule WingBar Evo 127
    Custom adapter plate
    M6x1.0x20mm Flat Head screws
    M6x1.0x25mm Socket ahead Cap Screws

The spacing of the cross bars is pretty narrow - 21” CtC. I’d prefer to have it closer to 30”, but that would put the front bar in the middle of the sunroof (plus require drilling). I may see what it looks like at the other mounting location (just front of the sunroof) but for now this is fine.

In the near future, I’ll also be installing a similar setup across the bed.

I'm interested in attempting this same setup for my 2024 Tacoma, can you describe the adapter you had machined or post a pic? Much appreciated.

The OP hasn't logged on in almost 3 years so I doubt you'll get a response.

Get the Yakima towers and bars. Once set up, it’s easy on easy off like 10 min each time and then you don’t have to have them on when not in use, which is good for longevity of the system as well as less wind noise and better gas mileage.

This. Get the landing pads to go with the towers. The landing pads bolt down to the factory rack locations, then the towers lock into those. Rack on or off in 2 minutes by myself.
