so last week I had a Leer XL installed on my Taco. But today I noticed the pre-installed Thule tracks don’t line up with the cabin roof mouldings. I plan on installing full prinsu racks and am worried the rear rack will not match up well.

Should I return it to have it replaced by the vendor?E5A50DE3-AD0F-46E9-AC37-4C8FB4BABDD2.jpg

I think you'll be ok as long as you use the same size cross bars. Typically you mount to the crossbar to your roof/shell and the side plates attach to the crossbars..

The tracks are not suppose to match your cab roof moldings, they are usually centered the same distance from edge of topper to give you maximum spacing on the cross bar width, google rhino rack and look at pictures installed on a tacoma topper.

Well... they are parallel. They just don’t line up.

Which would be very difficult to make happen. And I’m not sure why they need to be perfect.

That's roughly where I installed my Rhino tracks. If you move any closer to the edge the surface is too curved, water will get under the track and jack it up when it freezes. Putting them in line with the cab will cause more problems then it will solve.

No money, all went to truck...
It'll be fine. Brackets can slide along bars to fit any width, I think

The mounting brackets provide for lateral variation.

Mine aren't perfectly parallel either. There is about 1/4" difference from front to rear. Its not a problem. At least they put your tracks on correctly. On mine, the tracks were installed backwards, with the thicker portion toward the middle of the shell. Made the tracks like this /\. I removed them both and flipped them around so now they are like this _ _.

One thing to know is that the bed is tapered, and the shell will also be tapered to match. So for them to be totally parallel, the distance to the edge of the shell will be different front to back.

Remember the rear of the canopy is narrower than the front. At least all the fiberglass canopies..
