The older 2nd gens 05-11 (or at least upto my year 09) did not have the bumps on the steering wheels at 10 and 2 oclock that a lot of newer cars and trucks now have. I think they are called thumb grips. Wondering if anyone has added something to form the bump under an aftermarket steering wheel cover. I think the thumb grips make the wheel so much more comfortable. Also I always thought my steering wheel was a little thinner than I would have liked. My OEM leather wrap is starting to show it's age and want to get wheelskins or similar wrap. Can't find anything on the market to accomplish this. Anyone ever do something like this? How did it turn out? What did you use? I left a message with the wheelskins folks but have not heard back from them.

first of all wheelskins are baller !
so comfortable and it is very satisfying to sit down and thread one of those things perfectly

you may need to mcguyer two nubs from

    a) ergon bicycle grips

    http://www.ergon-bike.com/us/en/home#

take one of these and cut it up somehow

    b) wrap that ergon piece to the existing wheel

not sure if wheelskins would have enough coverage to cover the nub

I actually don't really like those on my 2015. I preferred the steering wheel on my 2007, but that's probably just because I was used to it. I'm sure I'll get accustomed to this one too.
