Tick "Not normal 6 tick"

I have an intermittent tick in my 2016 Toyota Tacoma. It is not the normal 3.4 tick that these trucks are knon for. At first I thought it was a lifter or cam tick. Pretty sure it is not. (99%) It would go tic tic tic tic, then nothing then again, then nothing, and again.................. I figured out that the only time I got this intermittent ticking noise was when I ran the AC for awhile. Figure it has to be related just haven't pin pointed it yet. Any ideas??????

 

Noises are really difficult to diagnose without hearing them in person.
I haven't heard enough 3.5l engines yet to know what's normal but I do know the direct injected engines tend to be noisier than the old port injected ones due to the high pressure fuel pump.
Are you hearing the noise inside the cab or under the hood?

 

Just a guess. If you only hear it with the ac on it might be related to the ac or spindle.
