ive got a 07 tacoma. only thing done is the lift tires and a k&n. i did the spark plugs the other day and i know i gapped them correctly and tightened them. the spark plugs are densos from toyota. and i checked just to make sure the part number was correct.

    problem:
i get home from work today and its making a faint tapping sound.sounds mainly on the driverside. if i rev it to about 1300 rpms just at a sit still i can hear it pretty distinctly. anyone have any ideas? almost like a valve tap. but i dont see that with 42,xxx miles. i appreciate the help in advanced.

Yea, your just paying attention to the engine now that you did all that work. I was doing the same thing. It's OK! These trucks all do it. There are 5 guys at work that have the same truck in different years. I had each one of them start up their engines. The guy with the 2010 was a little more quiet but other than that they all sounded the same.

I find my ticking is more prominent on the drivers' side as well.

its not your average tick to me. but you could be right i might just be paying to much attention. but if i start to rev slowly it goes away then comes back stronger. almost like no oil. but i know i have oil. i could be freaking out your right. but im looking at it more tomorrow. and possibly dealership. just to ease my mind some.
