My tacoma is less than a year old...and I hear a slight ticking noise while its idling...not sure if its a lifter or just something normal. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this typical of the tacoma?

x3. does it sound like a flywheel? or some kind of fan? it's a slower rpm than the engine, I think. had it in all three of my tacomas. always wondered what it is.

Its the clearance between the valve bucket shims and the cam lobes. Very normal for this and the injectors to make a slight ticking noise. I would only be concerned if it gradually gets louder.
