1999 Tacoma 2.4 with 306k miles. There’s this dam ticking noise at idle and is follows the rpm’s I can’t pinpoint but by hearing closely I can tell it’s coming from the top drivers side of the engine. I want opinions on what this might be or if anyone has experienced this before it would be a great help. Truck runs great, accelerates normal and no rough idle

Try some Marvel Mystery Oil, Maybe 8 ounces before an Oil and filter change and drive for a 100 miles at 30 minute or more rides! then change with Full Synthetic Motor Oil and a good filter !

just did an oil and oil filter change with some full synthetic a couple days ago. she’s quiet on a cold start but once up to operating temp the ticking is noticeable. Some ppl have said this is normal for high mileage Tacoma 4cyl what do you think? Thanks

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Spark plugs are tight? PCV, maybe. Exhaust gasket leak.

I havnt checked the spark plugs yet I’ll do that when I get the chance and make sure they are all torqued down to spec. Pcv or exhaust gasket, maybe a possibility. I’ll look into it more this weekend and keep you guys posted
