I have a ticking noise in my 05 taco. Don’t think it’s pistons cause it still makes the noise even when it’s warm. I don’t know if it could be the fuel injectors or the valve train but it is ticking. No check engine light. Don’t think it’s the fan either because that wouldn’t make sense i need help

Has it always made the noise?
Every Tacoma I’ve ever seen has made a ticking noise.
Some more than others. But they all have tick.

I don’t worry about “ticks”. I worry about “knocks”.

How many miles do you have on the truck? It could be the hydraulic lash adjusters making the noise since you have the 2TR-FE

I mean it does sound normal it’s not really my biggest concern. I have 200k miles. I did just clean the throttle body a couple of days ago and the RPMs have been real high, I will go into neutral and the RPMs will still stay at about 2500 for a second and then dry. I have a bad feeling i messed somethin up when i cleaned it lol
