Ticking sound from 2.7 anybody else have this?

    ok i was drivin home tonight and i heard this tick sould when i took off from a stop sign i only hear it when i just barely get on the gas. im thinkin its fuel injectors. my 2.7 has 150k miles on it which aint much for a yota. but ths is scarin me somebody tell me i have nothin to worry about:(

    search it on the site if you want but ticking from these engines is perfectly normal...depending on how loud i guess but my engine ticks.

    i searched but all i could find was 2nd gen and 3.4. but its not loud at all so im not gonna worry bout it too much

    I'm pretty sure it's piston slap. I guess this engine is known for having that. Do you let it warm up before you drive it?

    The Bed is stock...ish
    you could be hearing alittle spark knock.. what grade fuel you running.. mine does it on 87, i used 89 and it hasnt done it since.

    piston slap is normal if it has a few miles on it... 150K is enough. let your truck warm up a little before you dive.. i give mine about 60seconds

    i have 209k on my 2.7 and have no ticking... can you hear it when you have the hood up?

    naw not on idle just when i touch the gas real gentle takin off its not very loud tho

    is the tick constant or does it go away after a few seconds of taking off...also does the ticking sound speed up with acceleration...

    nah cant hear it when i press the gas any harder idk why but this mornin on the way to work it didnt make that noise so idk maybe it was just a one time thing
