Ticking sound in my engine bay when it runs

    Hey guys so I got a 2021 Toyota Tacoma and I've always noticed that ever since I got the truck brand new 0 miles it's always done this ticking noise almost like a clock inside the engine bay when it's running when I'm at stop light and recently my mom took my truck for a drive and she swears that that's not normal but I'm telling her that I took her to the dealership and they said it's a normal thing they didn't even check the truck they were just like that's normal Tacoma's do it can you guys explain to me why the Tacoma does this ticking noise does anybody know I'm curious myself and I also want to you know give this explanation to my mom that way she can stop worrying about this truck that's been working fine for me

    Every tacoma I have ever heard has that tick. Something to do with...I think it's maybe a purge valve? I don't know. Mine has done it for almost 200,000 miles.

    That what I'm telling her lol but she swears that it's not normal that her Chevy doesn't do it and I told her well this ain't a Chevy lol plus my truck ain't that old they only has 25,000

    Injector tick, completely normal particularly when in self-clean mode

    BTW, this is 2nd generation forum, your's is 3rd gen

    For 2022 I will take it right back to the dealer, and you’d probably have better luck in the third GEN forum

    Predator tube steps, Ranch Hand grill guard, Magnaflow CatBack exhaust, Toyota tool box & bed mat, 2LO Module by @Up2NoGood, Rearview Compass/Temp Mirror, Tune by @JustDSM.
    2nd and 3rd gens both tick, 2nd gens are more from the valvetrain and 3rd gens are the high pressure fuel pump and injectors. It's typically nothing to worry about.

    "Taco Tick" keeps a tickin'. I 've had two 2nd gens, one bought at 1300 miles and the other at 120K miles, both had the tick. I would not lose any sleep over it.
