    Hello all,

First time poster here needing some help! I have a automatic 4WD 2.7 L MFI DOHC 4 cyl with 200,xxx miles. I'm having an issue with a very light ticking noise coming from the driver side of the engine bay. At idle zero ticking, but when traveling from a dead stop to 20-30 MPH I notice a slight ticking while accelerating. The ticking stops immediately once acceleration is decreased. Engine power and acceleration seems normal, but I would like to diagnose if possible. If anyone has any recommendations or experience with this I would greatly appreciate it. Will upload a video to provide some insight.
Note : recently had a P0402 code for excessive EGR flow detected. This issue has been fixed ( was the EGR VSV that needed to be replaced)

Hi Jesse. Please listen under the hood. If it’s related to engine speed you should hear it without having to drive it, and hopefully locate it.

With the hood open and in neutral (of course!) blip the throttle at the throttle body and listen.

I appreciate the timely response's as I said it's very slight so it still may be difficult to hear. This ticking is not noticeable when the idle or increasing rpms from a stationary position. The ticking only happens when in motion

Hard to tell with the wind noise but I would say exhaust leak at the manifold, could be a cracked manifold or blown gasket. Get someone to powerbrake it while listening under the hood and see if you can locate it.

Sounds like an exhaust leak to me.

Exhaust manifold leak. I have the same problem unfortunately. Just got underneath the chassis with the tech and we found it. I’ve noticed a quick hiss when I punch the throttle for a few years now. These rust out all the time.

The ticking is just normal exhaust lifter tick but you can hear it louder because you likely have an exhaust manifold leak.
