Ticking when cold

    I run 5w-30 all year up here in Alaska, but then again we don't usually see temps above the 70's.

    If you're really worried about the ticking, I would pull it apart and measure the valve shims to see if they're out of spec. If you don't feel comfortable doing this, take it to the dealer and have them check.
