I have a 2002 Prerunner with the factory bed liner. I need advice for tie downs along the rails.

    Suggestions?

I too have been thinking this over, looking to see what ideas get tossed out. I am thinking bed liner may have to come out. :(

I've installed tie downs at various points in the bed of my tacoma. I used them for tying out hounds when we could hunt with them. Now I use them to ratchet strap my spare so it stands up in the bed. It's a D-ring and a flat bracket. I tacked the joint in the D ring to make it even stronger. I can take pics if you need them.

First thing I did on my 02 is pull that plastic poem bed liner out. Dust, dirt, and sand WILL get under there. It will rub the paint away and promote rust depending on your driving conditions. Plus, getting stuff up by the front of the bed would murder my knees with those plastic ribs in the bed liner. Also a trap for dirt, gravel, cigarette butts, empty ammo brass, etc. I hate those plastic bed liners like I hate the front brakes on an isuzu rodeo. Just stupid
