Hey guys. Looking to see if there’s a solution for tie downs on a truck that has a tonneau cover with rails. It came with some tie down clamps??? But I can’t use them because the rails are on it for the tonneau cover. Please help!

Assuming you're talking about using tie downs for a motorcycle, there are a few of options.

One is installing D rings in the front of the bed, and using those for your tie down points. Another is installing something like this:

They're made by ATH. I had to mount them upside down to get it to fit with my tonneau.

This thread also has a bunch of good ideas:

That tie down rail looks genius. I don’t haul 2 bikes too often but when I do I’m always wishing I had a center anchor point. This just went on my future purchase list.

Real happy with it. Nice solid mounting points with cut outs that serve as wheel chocks.

Did you have to remove the factory rail or does this mount between the factory rail and bed?

You could do the Sprinter D rings on the bed bolts mod. Sorry no pic

It mounts to the factory bed rails, so you just have to bolt it to the rails (no need to remove them) the same way the bed cleats mount to it. Normally it mounts with 6 bolts to the front rail, and a bolt to each side rail (which also serves to stiffen the bed), but in my case, I couldn't mount to the side rails, as my tonneau adds spacers to the side rails. Even with it mounted only to the front, it's a much more solid point to tie down to.

Just a heads up though, it does come unfinished, so you have to factor in the cost of getting it finished (or do it yourself) as well. I ended up getting mine powder coated wrinkle black.

Thanks for the info. It sounds like a great set up but not coming finished is a bummer. I see they do a lot of bumpers and I would assume they would come finished so I wonder why these would be sold raw. That could be a no go for me. I’ll have to shoot them a message but thanks for throwing that out there.

If given a choice on buying fabricated parts, I always choose raw. That way I can spend an hour or 2 grinding and filing down all the sharp edges. Then I take it to my powdercoat guy who does a good quality job. A lot of production jobs are wham, bam, get it out the door and the powdercoat falls off in a year or 2.

You can always go to Home Depot and buy spring nuts and put an eye bolt into them and make your own secure points. they fit in the rails. What ever you can think to attach to them. Ive seen people secure shovels and extra lights. That how I attached my bed light 1FED0C76-BC23-4252-962C-BCB57CDB4B80.jpg

Not sure what you need to tie down, but light weight stuff is easy.
