    I recommend that you use stainless steel cotter pins. I live in Florida and hit quite a few trails but stay away from salt water. In the process of replacing the lower ball joints I noticed the tie rod and lower ball joint cotter pins were damn near rusted off.

    Similar and related: does anyone know the P/N for the cotter pin that goes on the axle nut, except it locks a locker nut, not a castle? Like in this picture:

    Just take it to a parts store and buy one over the counter. They'll sell you a little assortment with a few different sizes, you'll have extras for next time
