Have a 2015 TRD sport and Bilstein 6112.

Sorry if this has all been covered I couldn’t find anything that gave me the answers I wanted so I figured I’d start a new thread on some questions about the less sexy suspension components, been tracking down a clicking noise in my front suspension and I think I’ve narrowed it down to my front left outer tie rod (real gunked up and looking a little sad) so my main question is what’s the consensus on oem vs greasable like moog? Change the boots while I’m there? I’m going to do all 4 at once just to hopefully not have to touch em again for a while. Also is there anything else you recommend on changing while im already in there? Upper ball joints maybe? Greasable vs oem? Thanks for any advice trying to make sure this truck lasts me forever

The issue with greaseable mog tie rods is they have very weak seals and elements get in very easily compared to sealed joint. I always push for sealed.

So in a perfect world, oem. But both are fine choices. Just making you aware.

I run 555 brand on my vehicles.

Awesome thank you, guessing you’ve had good luck with that brand for it? Any other suspension components you’d recommend taking a look at while I’m there? This is my first nice vehicle I care enough to take care of and it’s young enough (98k) that if I play things right I could have it for most of my life so just want to keep up on things without having them break or fail

Just replace the outer tie rods. Moog or Mevotech (what I use on my 4Runner) are OK if you grease them yearly.

Inner tie rods, if no play in them, can stay until your steering rack leaks severely enough to need replacement (being a 2015, any day now).

Ball joints and sway bar links are OK to stay as-is if the boot is in good condition.
