    Since this seemed to grab a lot of traction in the 3rd Gen sub-forum, posting this here. PM if you want the contact info for the guy who did my exhaust re-route. He's located in Federal Way and does all TIG welded stainless exhausts using pre-bent sections and pie cuts. He does fab work as a side gig. Saw some Relations Race Wheels sliders he did up for someone else that looked great as well.

    ====================================

    TIG welded 2.5" 304 stainless, even though the rest of the system is 2.25"? No kill like overkill!
    We tried to make the OEM heatshield work, but with the pipe diameter it just wasn't happening. A spacer to raise it, hammering it into different shapes, in the end it was easier to just wrap the pipe. Clearance was just too tight with the front driveshaft.

    I'm interested in seeing if you have any issues with the skid you choose. I can't imagine any issues but I heard a guy had an issue with it rattling against the skid and made annoying noises and vibrations with a similar tuck

    I'm going to hedge on the wrap killing any vibration noises, though if it contacts it could abrade it over time. We'll see.

    I'm gonna need some exhaust work on my FJ40 build. Does he work on things like that? Thanks.

    He's vehicle agnostic. He had an old postal jeep out front, a classic registered Mercedes, a WRX STi track car being built, my Taco, and a Mclaren showing up next week. I'm sure he can work on your FJ40. :p

    If I recall correctly that was a guy who didn't have an exhaust reroute and had smacked that skid hard, pushing the plate up into it. He had it redone and moved shifted to the completely flat skid.
