So I really want to go. But rt now I'm running completely stock except for sliders.

I just received all my lift (3" up front from bilsteins 5100 and eibach coil and for the rear a 2" aal) aside from my UCAs, which I have yet to order.

My question is, should I instal the lift minus the uca and run stock tires to the meet

OR leave the lift off till I get UCAs, so I only have to align once and take it all apart once, and get the 265/75 duratracs.

OR should I just pass on this meet, wait till I'm really ready?

Mind you I have ZERO, ZIP, NADA recovery gear...

You'll be fine with a stock rig! Wait on the lift so you can save the cash for your alignment. Its really bad to drive around much after lifting the truck with your alignment all out of wack. Your putting stress in places that don't need stress and then taking it off road will only make it worse. Like stated before many of us (including myself) need to take it easy this time because we NEED our vehicles to take us to work/school etc DAILY! So you'll be fine man. Also you could talk to metal tech and see if they have LR UCA's in stock... I hear its only $400 for them there and that would be cheaper then getting them shipped from Fat Bobs... They are local!

There's always the option of lifting... Going with out the uca with the lift and with the tires! Haha. Just gotta push the budget a bit

Actually the alignment would be free... I have two alignments free from a local shop. :) so alignment wise I'd be fine.

Also I dint mention I could run the lift with the tires and alignment but without the UCAs. I know the alignment will be slightly off in this case

I haven't heard of metal tech though.. Do they have a website?

What I am afraid of is this whole needing diff drop kit or not thing and wether or not to get a carrier bearing drop or shims... I hear people saying yes and no to them beig beneficial! Ahhhh

Edit: I'll look to see if they do. Lol. I've been doing research for months a few searches could hurt. Lol

I did this. Got the lift and ran stock tires, then swapped to 285 and the UCAs. It's fine.

    http://www.metaltech4x4.com/
    First link on google :p

    Diff drop, not needed.
Carrier bearing and shims? Case-by-case basis. Mine runs a bit rough around 60 with and without the carrier spacers, and I don't have the ability/know-how to adjust all the angles. about 20k on the lift and no big problems except the slight roughness, that I now can't tell unless I remember to listen for it.

For a few hundred miles or less, you are fine. You will need that time to determine what changes to make, anyway.
