Ok I understand when people spend $30k+ on a vehicle it should be perfect. Everyone has a different outlook on perfect and what they want from there vehicle. So almost everyday I come on TW there is a new post about something people “hate” about there trucks and I was driving home today and you will never guess what happened. Nothing ! Because this truck is absolutely perfect for me! I know people have problems with this and that but honesty I LOVE MY TRUCK and that is 0% an understatement! I Own a 2018 Cement Double Cab Short box TRD Off-road and it is perfect! Before this truck I have never owned a Toyota but always respected them! I have owned a 06 5.4 f150, 02 Ram 5.9,a 08 Chevy Silverado 5.3, and currently own a 08 Dodge Caliber srt4(450whp). I love my caliber it is a blast but it also loves to attract police and I’m very tempted by the boost. So I needed to get a truck preferably something that’s not a race truck! Once again the Tacoma is perfect! But I knew what I was getting into. I didn’t want a drag truck or a school bus(size joke), I wanted a comfortable truck that is happy staying under 75mph. I read the problems that people like to post and it almost makes me laugh because I didn’t buy my caliber for off-road like I didn’t buy my Tacoma to be a street princessess. I bought a machine and wow what a machine I bought. Every time I walk up to my truck I grin every time I turn it on I smile and every time I drive it I know I made the right choice ! I bought the truck of my dreams and have not even once looked back! It shifts like a truck and drives like a truck and gets the fuel economy my SRT4 wishes it could get! All in all this is the best vehicle I have ever owned and I plan to keep it until they no longer sell gas! Anyone considering a small TRUCK you have come to the right place. Anyone who wants a CAR that is awd and bigger look somewhere else. But stop shitting on these trucks for once !! I made the right choice for what my needs are maybe it is not as much the truck as the wrong needs for your situation! And I know there have been problems but anytime there’s changes it’s bound to happen. Enjoy what you drive because the grass isn’t always greener but this truck is always going to be my perfect choice !

Someone else’s truck was a piece of shit, though, so try to enjoy yours and not be bothered that someone’s else’s misfortune doesn’t have any direct effect to your life whatsoever.

Also, a whole shitload of people died today. Some because of a holy war, others because of cancer. One dude was eaten by a shark lulz what was HE thinking. Still, try to enjoy your truck.

I will. Because it has nothing to do with any of that.

If I wasnt doing 12k miles a year, I would sell it. Nothing better to put miles on due to the lack of depreciation.

What the 3rd gen lacks in soul, it makes up for with a drone from the rear differential, squeaks from the leaf springs, and loud ear-bleed inducing chirping fuel pump. Oh yeah, the idle is up and down shakey when it gets hot.

Sorry to offend some of the keyboard warriors out there but all I was trying to do is let people who are looking into Tacoma’s know there not all garbage is all. Like I said some people’s have had problems but every single vehicle will. I’m just happy with my truck and hope people looking for a truck will 2!

Nobody has ever said or suggested they’re all garbage. Just like nobody has ever said or suggested that one great one means they’re all perfect and people aren’t allowed to complain about their issues.

    Oh wait.

It’s ok. Let this be a lesson learned. The truth is, this isn’t actually a Tacoma forum. It’s a ford forum for people who inadvertently bought tacomas. You can tell by the ford love, raptor hero worship, and raptor mods. There’s like 5 people here who actually like Toyota pickups.

Not even.. just saying, 10,000 positive experiences don’t erase 10 negative ones, and vice versa. If you think there is a lot of complaint threads, stop reading them all.

Enjoy your truck if it’s perfect, you have no reason not to and someone else’s experiences don’t change or modify yours. Not sure why anybody has to validate themselves every other week about how all trucks are perfect because their one truck is, and people need to stop complaining.

I was pondering this just yesterday like Matt (OP) and it's partly human nature.

Most folks bitch about their 'better half', yet most had it good in the beginning, and never made an effort to say anything positive on a daily basis around friends till it went sour. Human nature…

It's about being thankful for having what you need, not what you don't. Forums do help by reflecting the negative, in that we get our shit fixed, great resource. Because of TW I was able to get a TSB applied and have to say, I smile when I sneak a peek at my truck outside, grateful I have a cool RIG and love driving it. Just yesterday I was able to run through 4LO and the locking diff and crawl and ZERO issues.

Sorry guys for trying to put a positive post out. Everything is always negative and shitty now a days and thought I would post on a Fourm where hopefully I could find some others or even help remind people they made the right choice. Not trying to make you feel bad because you wasted your money!

Replies don’t equate to bother, except in the literal sense of someone “bothered” to read a post, then “bothered” to reply to it.
