I just bought an '05 Tacoma 4wd and of course, want to gear her up. I know bed racks are in the future since she has a 5' bed and I need to be able to haul 8' items. A Tonneau cover is also in the future but have no idea what to get that will accommodate both. Any ideas on what to get? Durability of tops?

You could get leer reinforced cap
Then haul 8ft items on top of the leer rack?
    :notsure:

I've thought about that. But if I get a cap, I will need to crawl in the bed to get to stowed gear. Tonneau cover allows for more bed use.

I dont think you will be able to have a tonneau and a bed rack, a shell would allow you to keep your stuff covered in the bed allowed have a roof rack on top to carry bigger items, if your not planning on sleeping or camping out of the shell they do make some with big windows on the side you can flip open and reach in and grab stuff from the bed. I have a shell and crawling in to get stuff is my biggest pet peeve right now
