So while rotating my tires to my 2013 Tacoma my lug nuts are getting pretty rounded so it is probably time to change them out. I am a huge believer in getting something that is nicer that will last longer so I am shopping around. As of right now I have stock wheels but I am eyeballing SCS Ray10s and want to make sure they work with my current set up and future set up. What is everyone running and are splined lug nuts worth it?

If you are rounding your lug nuts, I'd suggest to take a close look at the wrench you are using or at how the wrench is being used.

Sounds like new lug nuts are needed.

You need to match the wheels. There are many types of lug nuts, acorn, conical, mag, ball.......

I'll have to look and see what brand I used awhile back. In my opinion the ones I bought weren't worth a darn. They worked after I chased all the threads with a tap, but prior to that there was so much black powder coat in them....ugh
They weren't the ones you linked from Summit though.

Your not going to be able to use them with your new aftermarket wheels, IE & aftermarket use two different styles of lug nuts :

OE flat flange ET ( extended thread ) style lug nut

Aftermarket wheels use conical ET lug nuts

+1 for what Evenflow said above. If you are going to buy the SCS wheels you should also buy the conical extended lugs from them too and make it easy on yourself (source: I have SCS wheels). Stock lugs wont work with the SCS wheels, aftermarket conical lugs won't work with stock wheels.

So what I am gathering from everyone is I am going to need to get new lugs when I get SCS wheels anyways.

Acorn and conical are the same thing.
