    Might be time for tires

I was thinking the General red letters 265/75/16

I've had BFG a/t's on my last few trucks, they are ok I suppose
but I would like to try something new.

    any suggestions?

not a big fan of bfg a/t ko's either. goodyear has a tire the "wrangler authority" only available through wal-mart. basically a bastardized version of the dura-trac i believe but cheaper. it out-performed the bfg's 2-1 but were a bit louder and required some serious weight to balance. that was my experience on my 92 and they wore very square and slow. ill be getting a set on my taco by winter unless these damn toyos would wear out before hand

another complaint would be that since they are only available through wal-mart, that means they do all of your tire service after they suck you in on the warranty.

actually the only tire-shop i've been in where they actually use a torque wrench on lug nuts but it takes them forever trying to juggle you among a bunch of shit-heads who think they diserve a free replacement after the neighbors dog pissed on a tire or something.

come to think of it, maybe the dura-tracs from a real tire shop

The Wheels and Tire section of the forum has loads of tire threads you can browse for opinions and reviews.

The BFG A/T is an ancient, outdated tire and I haven't seen enough evidence to convince me that the General red letters are worth it.

Many people rave about the Wrangler Duratrac. The Cooper STMaxx is also a great tire. So far I'm really liking my set of Hercules Trail Digger M/T.

nittos too. the terra grappler is a great all terrain, my brother got 40,000 miles on his taco. he never wheeled em hard but i tried them in the snow. worked well.

no experience with the trail grapplers but im sure they're great

    yup did my reading :D

I think more than anything I would like reviews from people who are running them.

and assuming they are available , I will have Tom's tires in LB do them.

Been there and they do good work , they have the road force balancer and actually use a torqe wrench not a "torqe stick"

Have you had the BFG all terrain? If so how would you compare them?

that has some to do with it... only because when a tire is down to 8 PSI the sidewalls should budge a bit

but i was over the grabbers before that trip
