Get your temporary VIN and the Toyota site will tell you where it’s being made.

Eh. First digit in VIN is for origin plant.

I don’t remember what they are off the top of my head but would be searchable here for sure.

On that end, I think I remember reading somewhere that temp vin had a temp VIN prefix, so couldn’t decipher build origin until actual VIN was updated.

    Definitely could be mistaken.

The temporary VIN starts with a 5 - pretty sure that means It’s coming from the Texas plant (3 is Baja) but someone correct me if I’m wrong

Honestly once you get it that list gets more reasonable, because your stoked to have it, plus they're so nice stock... That being said I'm already planning on putting the KM3's and some 5100 on it soon as I can.

Stuff like mud flaps, steps, tonneau covers, and special regional editions (we have TSS and Texas Editions in Gulf States) are all installed at the regional ports. Ironically, my truck was made in San Antonio, rail shipped to Houston to the Gulf States port, sat there for a week, then was trucked up to Austin. I laid my hands on it 10 days after it left the factory and 4 hours after it left the truck.

Mine was produced last week sometime. The temp VIN went unavailable last Friday. That same day, the dealer advised me 6/16 to 6/18 delivery. Thats with 1 port option and from San Anton to Middle TN. So, 2 to 3 weeks in a perfect world with no other delays.

Mine arrived a week after port, from TX to CA. It’s at the dealership getting a few items added to it.

The difference in the temp VIN and the actual VIN is in the last 6 digits - typically the 4th from the last is a letter and the final 6 are always all numbers. Once the truck is produced your dealer can check it's status in shipment through the Toyota Dealer Daily. Mine provided me occasional screenshots of the Pipeline Tracking page for my truck.

Three years ago, my TRD OR DCLB was built on June 21st in Mexico and arrived at the dealer on July 14th. I picked it up the next day. So, just over three weeks in my case and there were a couple of port ad ons that held everything up several days as well. But that was then and now is now. Glad I'm not in the market today.

All the terms they used were intentionally vague, I'd say 6 weeks was my "in production" duration and that included the Texas freeze thing, so the typical duration could be less. Of course we are still in 2020-2021 dumpster fire mode so who knows. I work on mega-buck construction jobs and it was just plain painful to listen to the vague language for the production and delivery of something on the level of complexity of a truck.

Probably depends on the trim level, and where the truck has to be shipped/dealer. All i can say it took nearly 8 weeks from the time the dealer put the request in for the truck to the time i picked it up. That began a bit after new years of 2020.
