time to sell my 03 TRD 4x4.

Hey guys I wanted to get some opinions on what I could look to get for my tacoma. My wife is pregnant with our second child now and even though I REALLY don't want to I know i am going to have to let my extra cab go. I really don't know what i could look to get for it. I'm also wondering if I should put stock bumper and rims/tires back on it and take out all the goodies and sell separate. opinions welcome. I'm in Jacksonville FL.

Here's the skinny on my truck. 03 TRD 4x4 extra cab, I'm the second owner, 151,000 miles, runs and drives flawlessly. Never had an accident, exterior 10/10, interior 9/10 only due to black mark above glove box from previous owner that i've never been able to get off.

extras:
I spared no expense with making this the truck I always wanted.

Lift: OME 3 inch lift with 1 inch over coiler spacer for about 4 inches. OME dakar replacement leafs in the back with AAL's. dif drop, brake line extensions etc.

Armor: Allpro baja front bumper, Allpro skid plate, Relentless fabrications frame sliders. Rhino lines gas tank skid plate, bed, and frame sliders.

Rims/tires: Micky Thompson sidebiter II rims and BFG KM2 33 12'50's (no rub!!)

Lighting: HID lights installed, four Rigid Industries LED pods (2 wide 2 narrow beam). LED map lights installed inside.

Sounds: $400 Sony Head unit, Focal 6.5's and tweeters, 2 kicker comp 10's, solor beric 500 amp for subs and JL Audio HD 1200 for Focals. There's over $2,500 in this system and it sounds amazing in range from Townes Van Zandt to dubstep.

Extras: Camper top, Uniden CB radio with fold away firestick antenna. Entire cab of truck has been dynomatted to decrease road noise. timing belt and water pump were replaced when i bought it 5 years ago as planned maintenance. replaced spark plugs and wires three years ago. K&N air filter. Color Matched grill guard with satoshi grill mod. PA speaker.

Thanks guys, it's a v6 engine. Interior looks like the normal grey interior in good shape. Don't have any pics handy. Rippen I live in east Arlington about a mile from the river and pretty much just drive to Mayport naval station to work most of the time.

I feel your pain. Just sold my 04 TRD 4x4 for same reason. Nice truck! That thing will sell quick! Mine lasted only a couple hours on craigslist before it was gone.

 

well I'm pretty much set on taking all the stuff out and selling. I added up everything (not including shipping, engine parts, K&N air filter, stereo wiring kit, mister wires etc) and it looks like I've got about 8,954 retail on all the extras i've added in. The truck itself is in GREAT shape, runs and drives perfectly so I think I could get 12-13 easy for it. I would only loose out on the frame sliders, rhino lining, dyno mat, and lift... even at half the price all the stuff cost i highly doubt someone would pay 17-18 as it sits now.

They have a red Tacoma at the local dealer same model as yours no where near as nice, stock,
they're asking $15k for it, I'd imagine yours to be worth quite a bit more, to the right buyer!

 

I'm getting ready to sell my truck as well. I do plan to keep most of my parts to put on my double cab though. Interested to see what you decide and how much your truck sells for. Looks to be in great shape!

Jamey...Im not expert but since you ask opinion and you invest 9,829.00 on improvements, assuming frame black clear not signs of rust, I will price it for 16,999

 

Alright guys, i just bought an 03 four door TRD SR5 on eBay that's also in excellent condition! 104,000 miles, one owner; I paid 17,350 for it stock but it does have 50k less miles. So I will indeed be selling my truck, but it will not have all the after market parts on it that it does now. I plan on swapping most everything that i can into the new truck. I'll be taking my time on this over the next month or two and making sure it's done right. I have lifetime free alignments on the tacoma with firestone so I'll have everything aligned etc with the new suspension under it.

I'll post when everything is complete and of course pics, so the truck *will* be for sale as an 03 TRD SR5 4X4 with stock suspension, wheels tires, stock cd player and sound system etc... so pretty much a stock two owner TRD with 152k miles that is in excellent condition inside and out with no rust issues, or any issues at all for that matter, and with a few extras.

The aftermarket and extras that I plan to leave on the current Tacoma are:
- Relentless Fab Frame sliders
- HID headlights
- raptor lined bed, sliders, and skid plates

maint completed / upgrades
- timing belt replaced
- all joints greased
- water pump replaced
- o2 sensor replaced
- new spark plugs
- new wires
- grey wire mod completed

I'll let you guys know and have first dibs at her before listing on craigslist or eBay.
