Yep. If we're painting with a broad brush... people in metro areas view others as obstacles. In the rural and small towns people are more frequently viewed as potential neighbors.

OP, if you're actually thinking you may make contact with someone else's bumper/fender/etc. then you need an actual plate bumper. Some of those options pictured in your original post are thin formed steel that'll buckle on first 5 mph tug-o-war.

    Nice mid-life crisis......LOL

I used to play with cars a lot when I was younger, even drag raced my 1971 Dodge Challenger for a season or two. Wish I'd kept some of those cars. Can't afford them now.

I’ve had a truck and a sports car of some sort all my life. I’m kinda tired of the loud rowdy vette. I’m not sure what is next.

test drive a Tesla. No seriously, it’s annoyingly fun if you like fast things. No save-the-planet, just a test drive. It’s well worth it.

plus their “dealer” experience makes it no pressure, those guys are just happy to show you the car, no crappy salesman tactics.

You guys would love driving in Germany a lot. Many rules to follow and drivers are very aggressive , yet safe. It is the drivers responsibility to speed up and merge safely with the flow of traffic. Also extremely strict "left lane passing only". Not to mention no speed limit where conditions permit on the autobahn. you just need ~2000 bucks and many hours of classes in order for you to get a license. A short cut is actually a Connecticut state drivers license, plus a day course and boom your in !

Also great (maybe not so great to "freedom lovers") is vehicle safety inspections, strict car modification rules, fines for breaking down on the side of highway lol, and easy roadside assistance (ADAC).

Another point is tickets and fines are typically the end all and usually cheaper. So it's like ~50 bucks for a speeding violation vs 300 here. Yet it is almost impossible to "fight" it in court. like here is a picture of you speeding , pay up dummy. This makes a lot of sense because there is less wasted time in a court house + clogging up the system by being a soar looser that doesn't want to admit you broke the law.

ya so ... USA land of the free... and defiantly the dumb

I’ll play now that the thread has digressed to all driving idjits. Motorcycles that weave the highway lanes between cars and feel the need to pass you and take your lane with less than 18” between your front headlight and their rear tire.

One small misjudgment on their part or lane drift on mine, and I’m going to be pulling body parts from my undercarriage for a week.

I don’t care if they thread lanes at stoplights, or creep down the shoulder under heavy traffic. But that high speed crap for no reason other than they need a rush just bothers me.

Hah! We were waiting for a parking spot the other day at the local corn maze and somebody jumped the line and stole the spot we were waiting in. My wife laid on the horn hard. I mean, she leaned over from the passenger seat and really went at it. I’m thinking, “oh great, I’m going to have to deal with some 250lb yahoo now”. Or a keyed car when we come back.

Thankfully another slot opened up and the apocalypse was averted.

I get a chuckle out of these threads. A little common courtesy goes a long way but I will admit, I’m that guy more often than not. I do ride more than I drive and it’s amazing how many people are absolute fuckwits who will willingly pit their 4K-8klb vehicle against a bike and have absolutely no problems with it.

    Fuck them!

I’ll ride up until the solid white line and cut over. Cause I can brake and adjust my speed to file in better than any 5,000lb faux overlander.

I’m also running a Denali sound bomb on the bike. Loud noises raises pulses! Love watching fuckwits toss their phones and screech when that ain’t paying attention and you lay on the horn next to them!

I get that but I think what op is referring to is the f-wad that Intentionally drives past the zipper point because they are special and brake checks you right after you let the MF in, most of the time it is a moron that can't get off the phone. The traffic light thing is when you set 4 car lengths behind the intersection and two lane forward has 1 closed for repair and the 3 tards in in front of you think it's their duty to let them in and you sit through 3 light changes, and this no shit it has happened on many occasions.

On a two lane highway and a person in the lead car pulls into the right lane for slower traffic, guy behind him speed-up just a little and drive next to him and not complete the pass until using up the entire half mile. Come on people if your going to pass ever, then mash that FN accelerator to the fn floor. Pass with a fn purpose!
