If the timing mark is lined up on the crank then the #1 piston should be at TDC.
Pretty easy to pull the upper timing cover back enough to see if the belt is broke or not.
The 3.4L is non-interference so the likelihood of valve damage from a broken timing belt is minimal.

pull a spark plug and check if it has any compression. No sweating of any line up marks. Now if it does..start tracking.

How many miles? It would be good to know how many it takes to break it.

Remove a few bolts from the upper timing cover and check timing belt or pull a spark plug out and put the oil dip stick in it to check if the dip stick move up and down when cranking. If the dip stick down move during crank, more likely the timing belt snap.

This doesn't make sense to me i figured if belt broke only the valves won't move during crank

What does the engine sound like cranking? Does it sound like it's cranking normally or just freewheeling?

I just done this to mine. Don’t forget to line the cams upon the marks as well. That crankshaft bolt is tight. I had to am the flywheel to break it loose.

I don't understand this what is am flywheel mean? How is this done? I was going to make something to bolt on pulley. I was also going to remove radiator and see if my impact would fit
