While trying to get new Timing belt installed, one of the cam shafts kinda sprung around out of TDC position about 1/4 turn clockwise . I moved it back to DTC counter clockwise and installed the belt. Rotated engine several times with new belt on and timing marks line up perfect. I'm hoping that I'm good to go. I've heard stories about only rotating engine clockwise. Any chance I've got something out of wack on cam?

I doubt you will see an issue. I rotated mine back and forth while positioning then under the belts and to makie some slack for the belt to slide over the tensioner.

I hear what you're saying, if you've turned the crank a few times and timing marks still line up on cams and crank you should be good to go man

Thanks. The clamps are a great idea. Mine were on the self just next to truck -Dah! I was Surprised at how tight the belt is without tensioner tightened up. Water pump was going out and leaking bad for a long time but was not leaving a drip after driving. Also Timing belt was ready to break. Ist T belt /water pump service at 117,000 miles. All new rollers, water pump and tensioner. Hopefully won't have to look back into there for a long time. U tube tip from Faye Hadley was good to keep from removing AC bracket to get at tensioner inside bolt.

Thanks. The clamps let you rotate the cams in opposite directions to tighten the upper part of the belt around the upper bearing while creating slack in the lower part of the belt so it can easily slide over the tensioner.
