I have a supercharged 2007 4.0L with approx 141k miles that it getting its frame replaced under the warranty that just got approved. While the dealership was doing the inspection they said that they found a leak at my timing chain cover, and after reading a few forums and seeing some pictures, I recognize that I do have one, not sure how big it is though, Im not seeing puddles under the truck or anything.. Right now I dont have the $1900 that they quoted me to fix it, so my question is how long do I have to fix it/ what is the worst case scenario of it not being fixed? As long as I keep an eye on oil levels and replace as necessary I should be ok right? Is the worry that the seal will blow out entirely?

    Thank you

If it’s anything like mine and most others. Just leave it. It’s more of a seapage then a leak and even that’s a strong word I think. It may never be replaced on mine. I’ll leave it until I notice an actual leak or something. Otherwise it’s all good.
