So i went under my truck today (1 week after degreasing the engine bay) and found a oil leak on the front passengers side of my engine and the steering rack is wet. :( …. Seems I have an 05 which makes me think I have the dreaded timing cover gasket tsb issue but I'm out of warranty. FML!

the power steering pump is the problem. the top bolt hole mounts between the timing cover and the block. its a tight fit. if you remove the PS pump and grind a little bit off the bolt hole on teh powersteering pump with a dremel, so that the PS pump doesnt push the timing cover out, it will fit better and should fix the issue. there is a TSB out for this. or atleast there was but with an 05 you would have to pay for it. its an easy fix

when i swapped motors, i couldnt get my PS pump to fit back into the mounting spot on the engine. if i didnt grind a little bit off, it would have caused this issue. anyways, i did it with out removing any of the lines going to the pump. just remove fan/shroud, serpintine belt, and 2 bolts for power steering pump and pull it down to the bottom to get a dremel up there. you dont have to grind much off
