Timing chain kit advice

    Bilstein 5100’s with ome 881 coils on lowest setting, JBA upper control arms, LCE header, 31x10.5x15 falken wildpeaks.
    Post up what timing chain kit you have had experience with. 2.7 3rz. Rebuilding this week!

    Yeah.
    No personal experience, but Yotashop seems to have a good following here and puts together good kits with OEM parts. A couple of options here (scroll down): https://www.yotashop.com/1998-toyota-tacoma-3rz-timing/

    Much cheaper options available from RockAuto, but if you need the balance shaft parts, I don't think those come in the RockAuto kits. They can be purchased separately, though.

    yeah I’ve seen yotashop, LCE, mizumo auto and a couple others but it’s just the price difference is crazy. I just want to be sure I’m buying quality parts.

    I’ve got a Coyles one from when I had to replace my timing cover gaskets. Thought I was going to do the chain but it was still in great shape guides too. It’s a full kit if you want it!

    Good luck! One thing I regret not replacing was the harmonic balancer when I did my timing cover.

    I didn’t get a new one. Maybe I should. I’m doing the balance shaft delete too.

    Whole lot easier now to do it than later. After all this time the rubber in the harmonic balancer gets old
