Very simple actually. Pop off the belt, unbolt and drop down the power steering pump, clean thoroughly, finger it in.

Only drawback is that you'll have to change your oil regularly again, since you won't be constantly filling it back up.

I'll be your mechanic. I can give you marginally better advice, for a fraction of the cost. Lol

Thanks man, I appreciate you. Yeah I think I'm just gonna take it apart on my next day off and clean/seal it and let her ride. If this is the worst thing to happen and this mileage then I'm thankful. She owes me nothing at this point.haha!

Installed Overhead Compass and Temperature Display along with outside temperature sensor and wiring; LED lights reverse backup; LED license plate lights; Added GTA Bluetooth Audio kit to stock radio for iphone audio; Spare tire steel braided air hose extension connection to rear bumper; Installed new headlights along with new bulbs PIAA H4 XTreme and for fog lights PIAA H10 XTreme bulbs. Installed new hood with "hood-scoop". Installed Predator Side Steps. Replaced front chrome grill with customized color matched (Desert Sand Mica) grill with added TOYOTA lettering (also in matched color), installed and secured tailgate anti-theft devices. Also installed a new external TPMS monitor for all 4 tires.
If you do I would highly recommend (buy a couple of cans) using this: http://www.gunk.com/products/DET_EBGEL.ASP

Drive your Tacoma to a carwash place (you definitely don't want to do this in your driveway) follow the directions on the can(s) and go at it. You'll probably get a bit wet and dirty (maybe use goggles from having to go underneath) but it will definitely get the job done.

If directions have been followed accordingly it'll come out looking clean and you'll get a better idea on where to apply sealant to the area(s) where you suspect leakage.

As for that mechanic's advise, I believe he's giving you "the business" (a.k.a a bunch of BS). So save yourself big $$$ and try what others here have recommended first and take it from there.

Good luck and hope everything works out for you. Also keep us posted with your results.

It won't hurt the belt or hoses if I get it on it? I actually just bought 2 cans the other day for this purpose, but was to scared to actually spray it down in there. Do I take any precautions?

Yeah, that's why I'm trying to navigate my way around DIY projects. I know a bit, but not enough to tear her down:/

Looks like @Torspd has you covered. That's the easiest fix and should work great.

I actually removed my timing cover and resealed it, but honestly that was an irritating chore lol

That's O K if it gets on any of the hose's, so no it won't hurt anything. I've used this on my Tacoma and really like'd the results afterwards.

Of course don't get any in your eyes, while spraying and washing if off, etc. maybe :notsure: use goggles as a precaution, if it makes you feel any better.

Like I previously mentioned, just "follow the directions on the can" and allow yourself plenty of time, don't rush yourself and you'll be OK and good to go.
