Honestly the biggest difference to me is the white vs amber, but it is noticable that the SS3s reach much further. The white SS3s seem to go much further and be brighter, but it could be driving vs combo beams as well. I do wish I had actual amber SS3s instead of white with covers, as you lose a lot of performance with them.

Another hunt on the books (unfortunately as unsuccessful as the last one). My buddy had an elk tag for the unit north of Flagstaff. Froze our butts of but didn't see anything except the amazing views!

Did the TRD Pro grill thing today. I like the style of the later TRD Off-Road grills, but not the early ones. Raptor lights are on there for now, but will probably get taken off, they are wired to my switch panel, so they aren't on all the time regardless.

Picked up a cheap Prinsu roof rack the other day, I like it a lot more than the frontrunner I had on my old truck since it sits a lot lower. It also seems easier to assemble and simpler.

Also went out and did some night wheeling with my brother and our Ranger buddy! Made a campfire and hung out for a bit.

Are you getting 13.5 mpg now with these tires? How does the truck do climbing steep grades like the one leaving camp verde heading back to the valley with that size tire?

I am getting 16-16.5 mpg with the tires, roof rack didn't actually knock it down as I thought it would. Not gonna lie, it slogs up hills now. I think it is more me shifting too soon/not fast enough, but going up the hill I am almost flooring it to keep 75 mph. Other than hills, I have no issues at all.

Got some Westcott Designs rock sliders today from the owner, Jeff Westcott, and got them installed this afternoon. I gotta say, he is an awesome guy, super friendly and willing to help with any questions or problems. 10/10 experience with him, and I reccomend everything he makes, it is all built to the highest standard.

Went camping at the Grapevine Airport out near Roosevelt lake. My dad, brother and our friend flew in, I drove out with all the camping gear. Had a blast!

I got a new roof top tent last week, and my girlfriend and I went and tested it out at Canyon Lake Friday night. We had a good time, except we left early because some dumbass came out and was mag-dumping a rifle into the mountainside we were next to at 5:45 in the morning, and we didn't feel safe. We could hear the richichets pinging, but it wasn't directly at us or anything. We packed up quickly and got out of there before sunrise and alerted the sheriff department.

Other than that, it was a great trip!

I got a CEL on my way to class today, throwing codes for P0012 and P0022, messed up camshaft timing and problems with the VVT. Gonna try some easy fixes tomorrow, hoping that it isn't something major.

So I have been going through some stuff with my truck. I will quote the relevant entries into the saga from other threads:

I currently have the truck, I am waiting for a new flywheel to come in. I am driving it with the CEL light on for the cat bank, they said it is a bad wire to an O2 sensor and they will fix it when the flywheel comes in. Last week was spring break, so I torture tested the new engine on a drive to the Colorado River (700 mile round trip) for a 50 mile canoe trip with my Boy Scout troop. She drove nice, except no cruise control since there is a CEL. Hopefully everything can get finished up here soon.

    20250308_151029.jpg

I've paid out the ass for this repair, which is wonderful since I am saving for my wedding in May. At least almost every wear item in the truck will be brand new.

Thanks for the update. Once the flywheel and the wire for the O2 sensor is done, hopefully you wont have any further issues.

The modding will continue until performance improves:anonymous:

Installed a NFAB light bar mount with a pair of KC Gravity Titans (Spot beam) that I traded some old truck stuff for. The NFAB bar is discontinued, but I found a guy in Cali selling a NIB one on FB marketplace and he shipped it to me at a huge discount. Lights, for some reason, make me happy and I need that for the truck right now.

I just want to rant to let my frustrations out. I haven't had my truck in over a month now. The engine shop has been chasing a check engine light for the O2 sensor the whole time. They have tried dozens of different fixes to find it, and we thought the issue was solved this weekend when the CEL didn't come on after their repairs at 30 miles like it has been. It comes on at 30 right on the dot after being reset. Instead, they took it for one more test drive this morning and it popped at 52 miles since reset. The toyota electrical guru for the state of Arizona is coming out this afternoon to look at it, as the shop, toyota, and several other companies have all failed to find the issue. Everything tests right and the truck runs exactly like it is supposed to. I just want my truck:bananadead:
