Went out wheeling with my buddy to inaugurate his new 4wd ranger, and came accross and rescued this First Gen from Sycamore Creek, a normally dry creek bed. The river was flowing like crazy, probably 50 yards wide. He tried to cross and flood his truck completely. Towed him out and back to the trailhead.

Installed a wind fairing on my roof rack today, hope it gets me a bit better gas mileage!

Picked up this bed rack a few months ago for cheap as hell. It was a bit rusted, but a wire wheel and some TLC made it like new again! Should be a lot more solid for my RTT than the shell, and easier to take on and off.

Few updates for finals week, I can't wait to be out of school for the summer. Washed and waxed her so she's all clean to get muddied up later this month. I got everything put onto the new bed rack. Also picked up a hi lift and mounted a toolbox in the bed for all my stuff I carried in my decked drawers.

Finally got around to installing my Christmas present to myself, an Auxbeam 8-Gang switch panel. Install was simple, and it cleaned up my wiring by a lot! I also swapped my ditch lights to SS2 Pros with the amber combo beam.

Went chasing the Northern Lights last night with my girlfriend, didn't see the lighs, but saw lots and lots of other people out in the desert looking to. Popped the tent and hung out for a bit! Also got to test my new lights!

Did my brakes yesterday, and man, it looks like I did them just in time. I knew they had been worn down for a while, but there was almost no meat left on the pads. I don't know how much longer they would have grabbed for.

Went up to Bear Canyon Lake with some friends before one of them leaves to start his career as an Army Field Artillery Officer in June. Caught some fish and had a great time!

I like your new topper. I’d be interested to know how you like it and if you think it’s high quality, etc.

I'm a fan of it, it's solid as heck and appears to be nicely sealed from the elements. The fabric and windows feel much higher quality than my bestop supertop I used to have, as well as other softoppers I've felt. The paint/powder coat on the frame is solid and held up to me sliding it around accidentally while putting it together.

That being said, the frame leaves a bit to be desired. The parts are fine and mount up easily, but the edges weren't sanded down well. The roof rack bolts were a pain to get in because the bolt holes moved on the different pieces when under its own weight. Also, the hardware to go into the bed rails was a bitch and a half to get in, since the just give you little squares of aluminum with a threaded hole instead of the T-slot pieces that I have used for literally every other bed rail application.

Final thoughts: I got a good coupon from the guys at the WildTop booth at the Overland Expo West. I probably wouldn't pay full price for it, but I really like it. Just gotta figure out how I'm gonna get my RTT mounted on it since the crossbars are so far apart.
