Looking at ceramic tinting my Tacoma. Option of front strip or no front strip. It's a $40 difference. With the Tacoma being a shorter window truck, do you guys get it or skip it?

Mines a ‘17 so no TSS camera, so I miss the little slide shades that go behind the mirror that my 1st gen had and a shade strip would be nice. Will a strip mess up your TSS camera?

Anyone remember the days when you could get the silver ones from most auto parts places with car names printed on them? My first car had
    “Bayerische Motoren Werke” on it.

Get the entire windshield done in clear [eg AIR80] film!

I have this done on my car - need to get it done on the Taco.
Makes a huge difference on the heat coming in to the vehicle/dashboard UV exposure etc..
Looks clear so the Police don't notice - if such things aren't legal where you live

For what it's worth, the entire visor slides if you need more coverage.

I have the strip, for myself it makes a huge difference. I believe the max is 6 inches. If you look at the windshield you will see a make about 6 inches done. In NY that's the legal limit I am told.

I bought a Ford Focus with a strip already installed. The strip never made sense with the sliding visor for me. Just annoyed me during the time of days when it was of no use. I went with a 45% tint on the front and now I rarely even need sunglasses. It's amazing during the day.

At night on dark back roads it makes me wish I had brighter headlights. I had to turn down the interior lighting to my eyes could adjust a bit better and now I'm used to it.

If I could do it again I would probably have done a step lighter - 65/70.

Did ceramic on the front , but think I should have gone with the strip. Anyway took a rock to front windshield a few months back so maybe I will replace and do the strip this time.:(

Tint shop recommended whole windshield in clear or 70%. I left it off for now, because a windshield replacement is likely in the near future. I did Xpel 20% ceramic on the front windows and 35% ceramic on the rear. Kind of wish I went a little darker though.

Our local guy will only go legal, which is 40 up front and as low as 12% in the rear. I like it being uniform though...

Find another shop. I had several tell me that and eventually found a couple places that would do whatever the customer wants. The 20% front and 35% rear is still light enough for night driving for me, so there's that.

Yeah, but not under and above the mirror like the 1st gen did- it had a small slide out shade built in, was pretty cool. But that wouldn’t work on newer 3rd gens.

1st gen owner, but I got a windshield strip a while after getting my side windows tinted and absolutely noticed the cab and myself were cooler in the summer sun. Made a difference for sure

I added the strip a few months ago… finally after 7 years. Should have done it on day 1.

$20, 20% pre-cut off eBay. Very happy with it and the impact it has for the Florida sun.
