I had 50 on the windshield on my last car. Tad too dark for me. Went 60 this time but ceramic.

Illinois is 35% also but I went with 20% on the front 2 and 35% over the privacy glass on the back 3 windows.

Just remember the rear “tint” is just dye in the glass. No UV/heat rejection. If you want to keep the truck cool tint all the windows. Most states don’t allow front windshield tint, except for a strip along the top.

As I’m signing papers for a new vehicle I’m also on the phone with my tint guy, always the very first mod. Just hate I live in Va where even legal tint can and has gotten a gun pulled on me and the Wife.

I concur...day or night if/when I get pulled over right away I roll all windows down all the way and open the rear as well as a gesture to the cop that I'm not trying to hide anything and to set him at ease (a little). Both my hands are on the top of the steering wheel; this way as he approaches the vehicle he can eliminate a few threats/surprises. Cops appreciate these little gestures and may get you out of a ticket. IMO this is only smart common sense if you conceal carry.

Check your state laws and inspection stations before you go overboard it's a bit of a pain to get off.

For sure I totally agree, in my state when your pulled over the cop knows I have a CWP before he ever gets out of his car. I got stopped years ago by a Trooper and first thing I said to him was that I had a Glock in my front right waist band and ask how he wanted me to proceed. Without batting an eye he said don’t show me yours and I won’t show you mine. He was a good guy, I’d worked lots of wrecks with him so that helped.

If you're worried about that sort of thing. I live in Oregon where legal percentage is 35%. I run 20% on all three of my vehicles with no issues from the po-po. Maybe our cops have better things to do or maybe I,m just a hard core rebel, either way darker looks better.

I love when people are so concerned about upholding the law when it comes to tint. I bet people like this never play on their cell phone while driving, speed, or even lane change without signaling; all of which cause more accidents than tint lmao. Excuse me for wanting to stay cool while protecting my interior from uv rays and prying eyes. I’ve had dark tint on three vehicles and never got a ticket for tint. Speeding yes.

What part of Oregon are you from? I’m in the PDX area and looking for some good recommendations for tint shops. Any pictures of that 20% on your inferno?
