Depends how dark you go and the vehicle. @14% I can see just fine at night. I also live in an area without a lot of street lights, even on dark roads it hasn’t been an issue. I didn’t do the front window so that’s a helping factor. My windows are at the state legal limit for back windows, I would factor that into your decision. Less of a bad day if you are already aware it might have to be removed.

Had a car with 20% and had issues seeing at night with it.

to Jart76. My dad has had all of his cars done at Elite in Milwaukee. A Cad, a Nissan, an Infiniti. Never a problem, excellent work. He went over there every time from Vancouver, said it was worth the drive. But expensive, but the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. He said everytime hes been in there its full of exotic cars, he said it was like going to a car show.

I've never undertaken a "rules list" - but the rear facing window of a truck? Often blocked by trailers or loading it would seem to be without benefit to regulate. Backseat side glass?

How about the shade / wind deflector trims popular in the southwest? Mine block a chunk of window - side and rear - are they illegal in some states? Between the shade trim and the toolbox lid my rear window is pretty much covered. And the factory rear headrests are about as stupid a line of sight block as can be imagined.

Cops are busting people now in NY for tinted glass. Anything ahead of the back side windows is illegal.
Even clear film is illegal. I had to de-film my FJ last year to keep from getting tickets..
It sucks but I don’t want to give a reason to stop me.

I did limo tint all the way around plus the brow. Not ceramic, didnt see the need since it's just so people cant see inside when I leave stuff in there. Been about two months and I'm still getting used to night driving because there is definitely a difference.

This statement doesn’t make sense. 14% is darker than 20%. The lower the number the darker. Limo is 5%. Anymore I don’t like to go darker than 20% as at night in the rain I can’t see shit well if the tint is too dark. 20% also matches factory rear tint well.

I'm in Sherwood but regardless of where you live in Portland there's really only one place I would go and that's Highline Customs just off Murray and hwy 26 across from the home depot in SW Portland. They have done all of my vehicles and being in the business myself for over 30 years I have seen the worst and I've seen the best. Just check out their ratings if you need some self convincing.

Here are a few pictures at different angles and different light conditions. Hope that helps

Of corse it does. Window heights, size, angle all play a factor in how much light is let in, especially through the untinted front windshield. Additionally seat height and angle play a factor. Obviously one Tacoma DC vs another Tacoma DC would make make a noticeable difference with each having a different level of tint.

Thanks for clearing up that the lower the percentage, the less light is let in.

I did 20% all windows minus front window. Will be going back to have them do it but just a tad.

This is not a subject up for debate. If you don't match the windows, you're living wrong.

I matched my front to my rears. 28%

You can still “see in” but I live in deer country and didn’t want super dark
