As dark as possible all the way around.

The sun in CO is intense, so I have 20% all the way around on top of the factory rear smoke (nothing on the windshield yet, but will go with 70%)

Not going darker on the rear is my only regert. I wish I had gone with 5% on the rear like I did on my subaru, especially for a rear facing car seat ... gotta keep the sun out of the kids eyes.

If I were to do it again, I would do 20% on the front doors, 5% on the rear doors and back glass, and 70% on the front.

I personally dont like anything darker than 20% on my front doors. I like being able to see out the front windows at night and being able to use my side mirrors at night ... especially in the rain.

Another thing to consider for the front windshield is whether not you wear polarized sun glasses.

I dont really like the e-effect of the tint with my polarized glasses. That is my main hesitation with the front windscreen.

My eyes are too sensitive to not wear sunglasses while driving (even with the rest of the truck tinted), and after sitting in my tint guys car with 70% ceramic tint, I decided to hold off on the windshield.

I also have crazy sensitive eyes and that's not an issue with any of my pairs of Oakleys thru the shield. Been wearing them for 15+ years though and been in tinted cars all my life. Nonissue here, but my lenses are black. Colored lenses may differ. I do find that I have a bunch of windshield glare from my dash though and my polarized sunglasses get rid of it completely.

I’m on the same page. I’m in Alaska so ceramic wasn’t a necessity for heat reflection, and after reading aaaalllll the posts here with people saying to get 20 on the front that’s what I went with. I was back at the shop the same day to have it pulled and get 40.
In the high noon sun the mirrors were simply too dark for my liking. It would have been stupid dark in the winter when we get less than 5 hours of daylight.
Idk how guys roll around with 5% on their fronts. I’m reading here that ceramic has better visibility, but for old school tint that just seems fucking crazy to me…
Ak law is 70 fronts, 40 backs/rear and non reflective top 5 inches of windshield. A coworker has limo tint on everything but the windshield and has gotten 2 tint tickets but he keeps putting it back on lol

It could be the specific product they carried. Ive had Llumar ceramic tint on the last two vehicles, with different sun glasses and they all did the same thing. Tint guy said it was the polarizing on the sun glasses ... though I dont notice it as much on my wife's old basic tint now that I am thinking about it.

I simply can't see well at night with heavy tint. Going thru any intersection is like taking your life into your hands in Phoenix,
so I always glance left/right etc - and I find that I get much better views with the window down. Even more so on the wifes
Subaru, it's just too dark for my old tired eyes.

Just had my fronts done today. Ceramic 30 because I’m old and seeing after dark is a bit of a problem. Really happy with it. Removed my TRD OR stickers last week. Needed a little refresh after 3 years.

Tinted mine 2 weeks ago after waiting a year and a half, i love it personally. I just matched the rear tint so it appeared even. To my surprise the front window didn't let in as much light as i thought felt no need to do the front. Gives just enough privacy IMO.

Up in Canada the law is strict about not tinting your front windows.

That being said, I got limo tint all around because if I get away with it for (it's been 11 years now) however long, the price seems justified.

Being down in Florida, I'd imagine I'd do it just for the heat, but I'm no snow bird. I'll die dry.

I don't even care about darkness but a high uv rejection ceramic tint like 3M Crystalline is a must have on any car, IMO. Not getting sunburnt while driving is tops.

It’s a must have in Florida. Don’t know how people do without it.

On my pro taco I did 20 ceramic all around and 50 ceramic on the windshield, was a tad dark at night with the shit taco head lights.

Wife’s t4r has 20 cermaic all around and 50 on the windshield. It’s great. Those headlights are much better than the taco.

My Cummins has 15 percent all the way around and 80 on the windshield. Pretty good combo and can’t tell the windshield is tinted.

My current F150 I went 70 on the windshield, 15 on the front, and 30 on the back doors and glass. Prolly the best combo I’ve had yet. Perfect visibility at night and great heat reductions.

I won’t go below 70 on the windshields any more. With suntek or lumar tint heat and uv reduction are equal from the darkest tints to the lightest. Only reason to go dark is for the looks.

I did 50% all around, and I honestly don't notice the visual difference during normal driving until rolling a window down, at night I don't notice a difference in visibility other than having a bit reduced glare from headlights and streetlights. 50% fit all my functional needs and the windshield doesn't stick out and make it obvious the side windows are tinted, while the rear windows still look slightly darker than originally and notably darker compared to the front ones like on a stock truck.

The heat reduction from ceramic tint in the summer was worth the cost to me, and passengers in the rear are a lot more comfortable now too.
