ditto. I've had 5% on all my vehicles including entire windshield, including double layered on my WRX. Best match ever imo. No need to roll my windows down when backing up at all, but that's prob cause I'm used to it.

well the windshield at 5% is not as dark as the side windows since its the biggest window on the truck and where most of light shines through in a vehicle. Plus you have taillights and street lights that shine through to help out at night. 5% on a windshield is actually like 15% on a side window.

oh and not a single ticket in my 12+ yrs of doing this to my vehicles. I did however have an off duty cop scold me about it once at a gas station.

i went with 20% tint on the front. had it done professionally and don't know the brand. it looks damn close the the factory tint, BUT i personally can tell a slight difference in the color. but, i'm just picky. hope this helps since we both have black tacomas

Guy that tinted my windows, at The Tint Shop in Statesboro, GA, told me that the equivalent to the back glass would be 20% on the front 2, but also stated that the back was only a "privacy glass" and would not block the UV rays from coming in and heatin up the cab of your truck. What I ended up getting was 15% on the front 2 and 20% on the back 3 over the privacy glass. I was a bit skeptical of this when he suggested it because i thought it would look uneven, but it actually looks good! $240 for all 6 windows (strip on the front).

Sup guys, name is chris..This is my department, all depends what you want to spend. Best match if yo are matching factory is gonna be llumar atc 20%, 15% will be a bit darker then the back more noticable from inside. Problem with atc is its really just a dye film so its not that great at rejecting heat and 20% is not legal in any state. Suntek has a carbon 18% which will match almost spot on also, has a little more green from inside and moderate heat rejection. Suntek cxp 18 is like carbon only it has ir inhibitors added for excellent heat rejection. HP films match pretty decent in the 20% range also but they have a layer of sputtered metal so it will have little shine, most customers wouldnt notice.
Im not one to condone illegal tinting but i had 20 on my last vehicle, getting a 06 trd sport crew cab this week so im stoked. Not trying to look like an ass but 5% on a windshield is just plain stupid, looks nice but thats an accident waiting to happen at night, any darker then 50% on windshield i wont tint it for you..

I was thinking 3m color guard film, did you have that on your truck? If so how does it look? Blackish not green?
