Tinted windshield

so I tried to get this clarified in the last post, but your original post I quoted made it sound like there is zero reason for a LEO to be able to see into your vehicle. That’s why I found it interesting...”pretty” pro cop (and now I am finding out family in LE) yet there is no reason they need to see into a car

 

The legality of it is not really in question here, it's the mental attitude that it's on his truck not yours, so it shouldn't matter to us. But when he runs me over taking a right turn, because he can't see shit out of any window on the truck, that's the bullshit idiots don't think about when they think it's ok.

 

Cops don’t approach a vehicle on foot at 65+mph either.

I don't know about your state but in California, if you have a medical reason to have tint, the tint must be readily removable.
I'm anti-tint. As an avid motorcyclist and bike rider, I want to see if you see me. Where you are looking is one of the many cues I use to stay safe. I know LEOs don't like it. If you get pulled over for speeding and you have very dark tinted windows, you have a snowball's chance in hell to get off with a warning.

just because people appear to be looking at you doesn’t mean they are seeing you. I alone am responsible for my safety when I ride.

 

Just bought a truck out of state with ( legal there) front sides tinted and light tint over whole WS and a strip across the top. (Not sure of the grade of tint) I can see out fine I can be seen fine. It makes the interior much more comfortable. I live in a state with tint laws and none allowed except rear windows. DMV and registration, inspection is closed but I plan on keeping it and seeing how lenient the LEO will be. You can see in the avatar that it is not too dark.

 

actually curious if you can post a picture at night with your headlights on then off. I really want to see what the 5% looks like.

I have 80% ceramic tent on my front. It cuts all UV’s. makes it much easier to drive in the day and far cooler in the summer.
