Not enough bandwidth on the internet to list.
Pretty sure I saw that little thing run across the road about 50 miles NW of Stovepipe Wells. We were pretty sure it was a Chupacabra.

Wait what do you mean OIL? Is there a way to carry eggs in oil? Do I put oil inside my Nalgene with the eggs? 5w30 or Canola? So confused...

Thanks for sharing. If I go full send and start breaking eggs I'll try this method. As it is I've been in some crazy places with the trailer and while the terrain is harsh I'm usually chill just because I'm towing so cracked eggs haven't been an issue. If I expand and get another fridge for the Taco this may become a problem since I get a little more wild when the trailer is dropped at camp and I'm exploring around.

Breaking eggs is a no-no! Especially since I have friends with hens that give me theirs. Fresh eggs from farmers you trust while enjoying the outdoors cannot be beaten in my opinion.

Was just gonna say, those aren't egglands, lol, paper thin shells, or the other popular brand that cracks the shell but not the membrane and the shell breaks apart in a million pieces and you are left with a globby eggbrane

    1. half the time i don't need as many eggs as the local shop has, may just be my luck but when i just want 6, they only have an 18 pack. when that happens, my coglands get filled up and i'm stuck with stabbing the 18 count box down to size in the parking lot with onlookers wondering why i'm cuzzing out and knifing apart a carton of eggs.
    2. i pick up the carton and they are all goo anyway.

i'd imagine a bag stuffed with shavings will have more surface area to absorb impact, maybe even save you a few in the middle.
and the pine doubles as fire starter =)
I do like the nalgene idea, does away with the shells, wouldn't want to go longer than a few days like that after opening and closing, cooling and warming

    Naw, man. Naw.

Tacos with chorizo, queso blanco, avocado, and a slightly runny egg on top is peak camping.

My favorite challenge is to plan out a weekends worth of meals, making them as elaborate and varied as possible, but with the fewest ingredients and utensils.

A couple of eggs are magical for that. Tonight's leftover chili becomes tomorrow's breakfast burritos. :hungry:

Rumor has it is that if you coat the eggs with veggie oil rather than dino, they last longer, like 12,000 miles between egg changes.

You guys are overthinking this, there's a foolproof way to keep eggs from cracking if you have a fridge. Set the temp too low--they will freeze solid. Last summer I did a 3000 mile trip, mostly off road, and not a single egg ever cracked.

I mean, we tried, but those things were indestructible. I threw one off a cliff and it bounced.

Trying a new method this trip. It will either be tolerable, or I will be buying eggs at the next town, or maybe it will make a horrendous mess.

    I dunno.

Option D - you spend the entire trip on the porcelain throne.
