That's how I had to get 1 of my rear shocks off. Driver side came off pretty easy with vice grips. Passenger side fought me all the way. At 9pm i had to make a call as the truck was needed to get to work in the morning. All went well with the sawzall.

managed to get the front suspension done, which I initially thought would be the most challenging part, but it actually went very smoothly. Surprisingly, the back has been more difficult than I expected—I thought it would be a breeze. I've finished the passenger side, but I can't remove the bolt from the driver's side rear shock. I'm planning to buy a sawzall to cut it off. The Hex is stripped.

Just bought this reciprocating saw for 25 bucks at harbor freight and it cut the bolt off like a champ

I cut mine off with a dremel tool cutter disc. Cut though bolt.

    So what’s your point?
Why take the time and go through the trouble?
Can remove a shock by cutting it in three minutes.
