@Istan Qi is more about overall convenience of not messing with a cable than it is about speedy charging, at least for me. Cubby sucks but having it on a magnetic mount to keep the phone fully powered with Waze or whatever and no cable is pretty nice.

I see about 14-15% charge increase per thirty minutes on my iphone7 whether using the cubby Qi charger or my Qi charging magnetic phone mount.

That said, I have a couple Qi pads at home and at work sitting where I normally set my phone down anyway, so it's rarely discharging very far. Probably why I'm not concerned with charging speed. :)

Agreed. I do like the convenience factor alot but I find fast charging to be more important. Actually, I just realized I leave my phone on the QI for short trips (not on purpose, I just throw it in the cubby) but anything over 10 mind I tend to plug in.

Anyone ever get the "connection error. Please consult instruction manual on how to connect iphone" message? I get it whenever I plug in my iphone to the USB now. I haven't changed the way I've done it before and now all of a sudden I get this message.

I never plug into the USB so I've not seen that error, but first two things I'd do are to hard-reboot the phone and try a different cable.

If your rear inner fender liners rattle like crazy, try about a 4 or 5" piece of rubber hose sliced longways and slide it over the lower leading edge as pictured above, I did this on my 2nd Gen and it reduced that rattling dramatically and I plan on doing it on my 3rd Gen whenever I get it.

    Yes, common issue.

In my case, I had my phone and the wife' phone paired to the system.

Deleting my wife's profile resolved the issue.

It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
Yup normal. I think it's because otherwise you could induce issues in the rain.

Sorry if this has already been said but just found out that in the Double Cab, the back seat belts can clip to the side of the cab to get out of the way and not rattle around. Nice feature.

I have a question for the Carista ODB2 settings:

I do not want my instrument lights to dim all the time under bridges tunnels and such during the day and come back on as fast as possible if they do dim. What do I need to set these at? Thanks.

    Instrument lights dimming sensitivity
    DARKEST / DARKER / NORMAL / LIGHTER / LIGHTEST

    Instrument lights restoring sensitivity
    DARKEST / DARKER / NORMAL / LIGHTER / LIGHTEST

    This is driving me crazy.

Yes this drove me crazy as well, the wording is really bad. Not only that, but I didn't want for my main headlights to turn on as well everytime i drive under an overpass. But try this, this is what I did, so for the first option its when you want to have your lights dimmed (lights dim during night time, so they're not too bright). Set that as darkest, which means the sensor will dim your lights when it is absolutely darkest, the ambient light that is, so the sensor is not as sensitive. In darkest setting a shadow should not set it off. Even though with this setting my main headlights still turn on when what I feel like its still too bright outside:rolleyes:

Now the second setting is when you want your light to go bright again, which is normally during daylight hours so the sun light won't drown out your stereo and the driver instrument panel. Imagine driving in early hours of the morning from nightime into daytime. Darkest setting means that your light will go bright when there is very little ambient light like twilight right before sunrise, lightest setting means the sun will rise a lot more before your dash goes into daymode. This setting is really confusing, but I set mine to lightest, because I don't want my dash go full bright until its daylight hours and still 5 in the morning. You normally will only experience this setting when driving from night to day on extended trips.

Is anybody having trouble receiving text messages through entunes, its not a big deal, but i've never had an issue on my 2015 tacoma. In this truck I have to manually go into messaging and always get a messaging displayed asking if want I want to receive messages from my device (phone), after that I get message notifications. But every time I turn the truck off, this feature resets and doesn't notify me of incoming text messages.

I have read members having problems, but me?- never. An incoming text message pops up, and asks "read" or "ignore" works every time.

iPhone? Yeah it will relentlessly reset. Texts are useless with iPhone and this thing. For me it's basically a flashy stereo now. I don't use the nav or any of the apps. The whole thing is bad tech.

yep. using android LG V20. If i forgot the devices on both ends and join, it will work for a few times until I send a text then it's done.

I would like it to work since California has a new can't hold the phone law. It won't show the text while moving so you guys who think it's unsafe can keep calm.

I have the entune app installed. I noticed that my phone will pop up with a message that entune wants access when the phone connects to entune. If i ignore the message, my texts do not read or play. If i allow access, and turn the screen off, it will read and play my messages.

So i've turned that feature off. If a text comes through I activate siri through steering button and have Siri do all the work. It takes a few seconds for the mic to activate, but it works every time.

If you are on an iPhone all you have to do is grant the system access to messages.
