Ok I assume you're just messing with me at this point but let me simplify it for you:

Truck has the sensors, not the trailer.

When the truck is in reverse with a trailer attached, the sensors think you're about to hit something, and go crazy. That will make you go insane while trying to back the trailer.

The button allows you to turn off the sensors while pulling a trailer for when you have to back the trailer, otherwise it becomes a pain in the ass.

I'm going to quote my own post because I figured out the answer.

I still can't get rid of the warning when the radio first comes on as you start the truck, but I DID figure out how to get rid of the warning about data usage when you use Pandora, I heart Radio or any of the app features.

Go to settings, go to the right one page and select "Entune" (Upper Left). It has Data plan options. When you select it, there are three options. Display once per Drive, Every Time, and Never.

Turn that bitch off and select "NEVER". At least one asinine warning is gone now.

The startup warning probably isn't gong away, that's a Don't sue me thing from Toyota I would assume.

Goodness, guys. This driving stuff is so off-topic.

When I'm charging my cell-phone the conventional way using the power outlet on the dash or the one inside the console, and then turn my truck off, the power to the outlet also goes off. My other vehicles, including the Tundra I just sold, allow the power to stay on. So, I can't charge my cell phone or other electronics while my key is out of my truck?

I have a samsung note 3, just replaced phone back with QI charger back, and I have it in an Otterbox Defender, it charges no problem in the truck.

Hmm, I need to test this and check out some settings on the Entune system. This is good to know and I'll post in on the list of things.

Yeah, that's an unfortunate trend in vehicles lately. My Chevy kept the power on. My wife's Pilot and now CR-V both kill the power to the 12V receptacles in them. Sucks. Luckily it's just one of those minor annoyances though. If you're going to be around your car, you can turn the ignition to "on" though. Sounds like another mod can be done so those are powered all the time like the gray wire mod for the locker!! Shouldn't be too hard I wouldn't imagine. It's never been high enough on my list of things to look at to mess with.

In an Xterra that I had, only the outlet inside the center console would stay on for charging after the car had been turned off. I wish Toyota would have done the same in the new Tacoma.

I posted the other day saying how you can put your automatic Tacoma into reverse while driving and the backup camera would come on. He's a link to a video I made showing that. It works on Toyota's with an electronically controlled transmission.

    https://vimeo.com/153385425

I would only do this above 25 mph.

Gosh, it takes nerve to put your truck into 'Reverse' while traveling forward. I'd be afraid of destroying the transmission.

    Thanks for sharing this........................

It's a safety feature from Toyota. Reverse becomes "disengaged" and basically becomes a second neutral. Great thing to do when someone is riding your bumper though.

Before I agree with the first sentence, Just how big an ol' boy are you? You may be a lot bigger than me, and you may be younger than me!! Uh, yes, there's a 12V receptacle in the bottom of the box. About as inconvenient to get to as possible, but it's there. I believe there's even a groove out of the leading edge to lay your cord in so it doesn't get pinched!!
